Walk for homes

Walk for Homes – Join us for our Virtual Walk!
September 9 – 30
Challenge Yourself to Walk, Run or Roll (anytime, anywhere) 52 miles in 21 days. Do it your own way!

At a time when we are encouraged to stay home, many families in our communities are faced with living conditions that are unsafe, unhealthy, too crowded, have no outdoor space for their families to utilize, or are otherwise unaffordable. Local families hit hard by COVID-19 and its economic fallout are making impossible choices between healthy food, medicine, transportation and a safe, decent, affordable home.

Challenge yourself to Walk, Run or Roll 52 miles in 21 days!

Join the virtual Walk for Homes to raise awareness and funding for local families and veterans who urgently need an affordable home. Form a team or walk on your own. Ask your family and friends to sponsor you.

Because Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester has built 52 affordable homes with local families throughout Middlesex and Worcester Counties, we are challenging supporters to walk, run or roll 52 miles in 21 days. If you move just 6,200 steps a day (anytime, anywhere – every step counts) you’ll reach your goal.

You can do this from the safety of your home, or by practicing safe social distancing out of doors. The walk gives you many options to not only participate, but to fundraise to help us regain necessary momentum after the devastating effects the current health crisis has had on our ability to continue serving local families who need an affordable home.

We encourage each participant to raise $300 (or more!) by inviting family, friends and colleagues to support their effort. We’ll provide the fundraising platform and tools to make it easy, as well as access to the MoveSpring experience to make it fun and engaging. Participants will be able to sync their fitness device to track progress in the MoveSpring app, unlock milestones along the way, and connect virtually with other participants while making a difference in the lives of local families. Remember – every dollar you raise helps local children, women, families, and veterans to experience the safety and joy that living in a safe and affordable home provides. Please help – local families are counting on you! Click here to read our most recent Habitat homeowner stories. This is wonderful inspiration for why YOU are raising funds for our Walk for Homes event.
