What are House Captains?
A house captain will be the "expert" in charge of one playhouse, the person who instructs the team building the house as to the necessary steps. We provide training beforehand. Our Operation Playhouse Manager will be on site all day, as well as other volunteers. The playhouse events are held throughout the year, both during the week and on the weekend.

Currently, we have a lengthy waiting list of veterans who have requested a playhouse for their children. Help us to serve more veteran and military families throughout New England—and enjoy a fun and happy volunteer experience in the process.

Operation Playhouse Build-A-Thons
Our Operation Playhouse Build-A-Thons are events that require several House Captains. A Build-A-Thon is a day long event that brings many partners together to build playhouses at one site. Last year we hosted three Build-A-Thons and we were able to build 22 playhouses for the children of veteran and military families! After you receive House Captain training please keep the below dates in mind as we typically need 8-12 house captains per event to help them run smoothly.
