Individuals on the build site

Volunteering on the build site is a fun, hands-on opportunity that allows you to work on a home alongside future Habitat homeowners.  Our build site volunteers do everything from framing and raising walls to hanging drywall to painting.  While previous construction experience is not required, it is always welcome.

Build days are scheduled Wednesdays and Saturdays during active construction and generally run from 8:00am to 4:00pm.  Check for available slots and sign up to volunteer on the construction site:

Volunteering Beyond Construction

Hammer and nails not for you but still want to volunteer?  Attend a Volunteer Information Session to learn more about these other volunteer opportunities or send a letter of interest to volunteer@habitatmwgw.org.  Additional opportunities include:

  • Construction site host:  Site hosts play a crucial role on the construction site by greeting and signing in volunteers, providing coffee and providing or setting up for lunch.
  • HabiCorps: Whether its mailings, data entry or material distribution, we are looking for on-call volunteers to help out with office activities when they arise.
  • Join a committee:  Much of the behind-the-scenes work at Habitat happens in committees.  Looking to volunteer long-term?  Learn more about joining a committee. Read more about our active committees here.
  • Speakers bureau:  Join Board members and other volunteers to spread the word about HFH-MW/GW at churches, schools and throughout the community.
  • Volunteer at ReStore:  Volunteers are the driving force behind our ReStore! Learn about all the opportunities on our Volunteer at ReStore page.
