More about How Operation Playhouse Works

Our community program manager will work with you to determine a theme for your playhouse based on your child’s interests.  Some examples of themes are, but not limited to: Frozen, Avengers, Barbie, Barnyard, Patriotic, Camouflage, Princess, Pirates, Shrek, Sports Themes, etc.

Are you a veteran or military family living in New England with children or grandchildren ages 0 – 12 years old? If so, please let us know if your child would like to receive a playhouse through our Operation Playhouse program.

Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester is the only Habitat affiliate on the East Coast, and one of a few nationwide, that offers Operation Playhouse.  We build playhouses primarily in the MetroWest and Greater Worcester areas of Massachusetts with teams of 8 – 12 participants.  Each playhouse is sponsored by a company or other group as a way to give back to Veterans and military families.

Exact locations vary as to the company or partner that may be sponsoring the playhouse.  We also host “Build-A-Thons” in June each year, one in Framingham and another in Worcester.  Multiple sponsors build playhouses for the children of Veterans in one location.

Operation Playhouse is open to any Veteran or military family in New England.  As a Veterans Build affiliate, Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester is proud to serve those who have served our country.  We thank you for your service!
