MetroWest/Greater Worcester (HFH-MW/GW) broke ground on October 15 and begin building an affordable house at 16 Fales Street in Worcester.  The project at 16 Fales Street will be built to connect to an existing Habitat house at 18 Fales Street, thus resulting in a duplex structure. The new construction at 16 Fales Street will have approximately 1,050 square feet of living space for a single family.  It will be two stories with two bedrooms and one and one half bathrooms.  The house will be Energy Star certified as well as landscaped in a manner compatible with neighboring homes.  Construction is expected to be completed over the next 10 – 12 months.  It will be the 34^th home built by HFH-MW/GW in the past 26 years.

The Worcester Habitat Project will be built with volunteer labor. After our Groundbreaking on October 15, we started building on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Building completion will take approximately 12 months with a projected occupancy date of Fall, 2012. Click here to sign up to volunteer.

Team Building Day Program: Want to boost company morale, improve employee relations, and improve your community at the same time but cannot commit to a Home Build Sponsorship? For a suggested donation of $1,500, corporate groups can participate in our “Team Building Day” program, which reserves the HFH-MW/GW construction site exclusively for the donating company’s employees (up to 12) for a half-day or day-long retreat. We ask nonprofit and community organizations to consider a donation of $750 – $1000. All donations support the building project.
