Boylston
Through the generous donation of Claire and Charles Fitts, HFH-MW/GW was granted the opportunity to develop 1 Mill Road Circle in Boylston. HFH-MW/GW worked with members of the Boylston community who formed a Local Project Committee under the leadership of Howard Drobner and Sue Olsen. This committee was instrumental with fundraising, outreach efforts, and working with town officials on the permitting process.
The design of this project is a duplex consisting of two three-bedroom units, each approximately 1150 square feet. Each unit is two stories, with bedrooms on the second floor. The structure was designed, detailed, and landscaped in a manner compatible with neighboring homes.
Meet our new Habitat Families: Lisa Davin and her two children and Kristy and Domingo Mendoza with their two children are the new homeowners of the duplex home in Boylston

Saturday, January 21 at 1:00 pm – Boyston Duplex Dedication – The public was invited to attend the afternoon celebration, meet Habitat volunteers and sponsors and tour the homes. The keys were handed over to the new homeowners at this event. Lisa Davin and her two children will occupy one side of the duplex and the Mendoza family, which includes two young children, will occupy the other. To see more photos of the event click here.

We still have some work to do this Spring to finish the project. The installation of a paved driveway and landscaping will need to be done. We expect these to cost about $10,000 for materials (asphalt, loam for the yards and brick pavers for the front entrances). We’ll be looking for volunteers in Boylston as Winter comes to an end, email volunteer@habitatmwgw.org.
Sponsorship and donor opportunities are still available – contact chrisy.jones@habitatmwgw.org (Chrisy Jones) or OlsenSue@aol.com (Sue Olsen). To view the Boylston Project Blog with information about our progress, click here.
