Women Volunteers in Metro West / Greater Worcester For Habitat for Humanity

Save the Dates: WOMEN BUILD WEEKEND

Saturday & Sunday - May 5 & 6, 2012:  Worcester Build Site at 16 Fales Street, Worcester, MA

Calling all women! Join us for Habitat for Humanity – MetroWest/Greater Worcester’s  Women Build weekend involving local women working together on a day dedicated to “women helping women”.  A new way to bond with women in your family, workplace, Book Club, sports classes, or other groups!  You may work side-by-side with Habitat’s most recent new homeowner at the Worcester Build site. Share this fun event with your women friends and come raise funds for our local Habitat Projects while learning skills, meeting other women and having fun.

Choose either a morning shift (9 am –1 pm) OR an afternoon shift (noon – 4 pm), and both groups will stay for a catered lunch at the Build site.  Each shift will be limited to 15 participants.  Women Build participants can register online at: http://gwhfh.volunteerhub.com or by calling Dawn Hines, Resource Development Officer, at 508-799-9259.

There is a  suggested minimum donation for each Women Build participant is $100.  Ask your friends and family to sponsor your Women Build shift to reach your minimum pledge goal.  Meeting the $100 fundraising minimum will be easier than you think! Here are a few suggestions to get you started.

  • Donate $20 yourself – it is always easier to get others to support you if you donate to your cause first!
  • Ask 2 co-workers for $10 each.
  • Ask 2 of your friends for $10 each.
  • Ask 2 family members for $10 each.
  • Ask 2 neighbors for $10 each.

And just like that, by asking just 8 people you have at least $100 – EASY!  Imagine if you asked folks for $15 or $25!
