Fales Street, Worcester

MetroWest/Greater Worcester (HFH-MW/GW) broke ground on October 15 and begin building an affordable house at 16 Fales Street in Worcester.  The project at 16 Fales Street was built to connect to an existing Habitat house at 18 Fales Street, thus resulting in a duplex structure. The new construction at 16 Fales Street has approximately 1,050 square feet of living space for a single family.  It is two stories with two bedrooms and one and one half bathrooms.  The house is Energy Star certified as well as landscaped in a manner compatible with neighboring homes.  Construction was completed in December 2012.  It was the 34th home built by HFH-MW/GW in the past 26 years.

The Worcester Habitat Project was built with volunteer labor. After our Groundbreaking on October 15, we started building on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The home is now complete and our Dedication and Volunteer Appreciation Ceremony was held on December 8, 2012. The Telegram & Gazette printed a great piece on the event, click here to read it.
