ReStore Driver/Donations Ambassador

Reports to: Donor Relations Manager

Description:  This position is responsible for the driving and pick-up of merchandise from residences and businesses, effectively interact with donors and resolve any problems/concerns that may arise, safely packing the merchandise in the ReStore truck, and returning to ReStore and unpacking merchandise.


  • Load and unload all donated materials.
  • Screen for product usability.
  • Supervise truck volunteers making their experience meaningful.
  • Drive HFHMW/GW vehicles to pick-up donated goods.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with ReStore staff, volunteers, Habitat homeowners and ReStore customers.
  • Operate forklift.
  • Daily cleaning of ReStore truck.
  • Follow daily truck inspection guide and maintain all truck equipment communicating what need replacing.
  • Be in store for all events.
  • Assist customers, donors and staff in store as needed.

Required Skills / Experience

  • Must be willing to understand the big picture of the HFHMW/GW mission and know that ReStore is a part of the larger goal.
  • Must pass Criminal Background Check and Sexual Offender Check.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds independently.
  • Must be 25 years or older.
  • Must have 3 year professional driving record of box trucks or larger.
  • Ability to spend majority of the day standing or moving about ReStore. Work may require climbing ladders, considerable standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching in awkward and tiring positions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
  • DOT card required (have or be able to pass the test to receive this certification).
