We are currently looking for a Construction/Project Manager:

Volunteer Coordinator, Family Services, Construction Committee and Fundraising Team
Job Type:
Full-time – Generally Tuesday though Saturday
Position Summary:
To oversee all aspects of Habitat for Humanity’s construction process in a way that utilizes staff, volunteer labor and materials to produce quality homes in a safe affordable manner. Position will include managing construction staff and volunteers, overseeing residential construction sites (3-4), training volunteers, coordinating plan and site development, insuring construction quality and workplace safety.Â
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Construction Planning
- Develops an overall construction plan and budgets for each build season.
- Develops and executes short term construction schedule in partnership with volunteer coordinator.
- Works with architects, engineers to monitor construction.
- Develops schedules for each project.
- Familiar with MA and local building regulations, will become knowledgeable in Habitat standards and construction programs.
- Promotes energy-efficient housing.
- Establishes a bid process for each project
Construction Management
- Supervises professional and volunteer construction personnel.
- Identifies, trains and support volunteer site supervisors and volunteer coordinators.
- Provides training and development opportunities for long-term volunteers.
- Works closely with staff on weekly plan update and communicates to volunteers and staff.Â
- Works with staff, volunteer manager and family services to insure that volunteers and partner families are productively involved in the construction process.
- Attends special events and conferences as appropriate.
- Establishes, follows and evaluates worksite safety program.
Construction Procedure
- Evaluate subcontractor bids, recommend contracts and monitor timely and accurate completion.
- Use in-kind material and labor when possible.
- Provide updates regarding project status and estimated completion dates.
- Responsible for projects until 100% complete and sold to homeowner.
Materials and Labor procurement
- Develop working relationships with contractors and vendors
- Plans in-kind donation needs, orders materials and negotiates pricing. Monitors delivery and security of materials.Â
- Oversees tool/equipment inventory, management and repairs
Management of Information
- Approve all construction-related invoices, code appropriately.
- Estimate and report value of in-kind gifts.
- Use pre-construction meetings to help Project Sponsors and Habitat team understand responsibilities, procedures and to have a meaningful volunteer experience.
- Provides construction project budgets to Finance Director and Executive Director
ReStore
- Support ReStore construction projects and site management
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Commitment to Habitat for Humanity ideals and philosophy.
- Ability to work with people of all races, faiths and backgrounds.
- A strong background in residential home construction. Five years of related experience.
- College degree in related field preferred.
- Ability to work well with volunteers, A good working relationship with volunteers and homeowner families is essential.
- Excellent communication skills a must.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Computer literacy a must. Word, Excel and project management software
- Flexible schedule
- Current MA Construction Supervisor and Home Improvement Licenses
