Celebrate World Habitat Day!

World Habitat Day is a day to reflect on the state of our towns and cities, and on the basic right of all to adequate shelter. It is also intended to remind the world that we all have the power and the responsibility to shape the future of our cities and towns.

26 years ago the United Nations General Assembly held the first ever World Habitat Day. This year, Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester asks for a Call to Action from our Cities and Towns, Corporations and Volunteers.  We have several exciting ways to take action through volunteering, donating, or both. Our main goal for World Habitat Day is to mobilize individuals to raise awareness about Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester and help us build homes,  communities and hope. Take Action Today and contact us to book your individual or corporate build day in one or more of our life changing   opportunities:

SanDisk PlayHouse Challenge!

SanDiskCares_R1Operation Playhouse Logo 2016

Thank you SanDisk for hosting our first ever Playhouse Challenge! We had a truly great day with SanDisk and EMC employees coming together to give back to our veterans. SanDisk’s creativity and generosity raised more than $30,000 in one day to help build homes, communities and hope, Thank You!

Playhouses are mini-homes that are donated to children of veterans, complete with a framed proof of ownership certificate. The money raised from the Operation Playhouse supports building homes for families in our community in need of a hand-up. The Operation Project is mobile and can come to your office to help build team spirit in your workplace. SanDisk’s unique approach to Operation Playhouse not only allowed for their employees to work together but invited another company, EMC, to come and work with them, building inter-organizational camaraderie.

This Challenge impacted 6 veteran families, 50 volunteers, raised over $30,000, and created an opportunity for two reputable corporations to come together to give back to the community. This was a truly humbling day that would not have been possible if it weren’t for SanDisk Corporations commitment to the community! Thank You!
