Three Families become Homeowners

Three Habitat families officially became homeowners last month after putting in hundreds of sweat equity hours to help build their own homes: Kim Renaud (Sturbridge), Crystal Guzman and Ornella Bisceglia (Fales Street).

“Putting families into decent, affordable housing is the reason we exist,” said Habitat Executive Director Tim Firment. “When we close on a property, we are helping the family take that major step that will hopefully transform their lives. A hand up, not a hand out. There is not a better feeling in the world than handing over the keys.”

Signing the final documents for the units at Sturbridge and Fales Street in Worcester marks Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester’s 32nd , 33rd and 34th family. With the completion of these builds, we are moving one step closer toward our vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
